The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in the Safe Administration of Life Saving Medication (RQF) is a nationally recognised qualification designed for prehospital care providers who are expected to administer and monitor the effects of life-saving medication within their clinical scope of practice.

 

This 2-day course equips learners with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to deliver emergency medication safely, legally, and professionally, under appropriate clinical governance.

Entry Requirements

To enrol, learners must:

  • Be 18 years or older on the first day of training
  • Hold a valid FREC 4 qualification (or QA-recognised equivalent)
  • Provide verifiable proof of employment (full, part-time, or ad hoc) with a CQC-registered prehospital care provider (or equivalent overseas)
  • Be working under an organisation with appropriate clinical governance and medicines management policies
 

Training Format

This 2-day course includes:

All learners are assessed against regulated criteria by qualified instructors.

Important: This qualification does not grant authorisation to independently obtain, store or administer medication. It must be used within a clearly defined organisational scope of practice under governance policies such as PGDs, PSDs, or local SOPs.
